was supported with an amount of Rs. 50,000/- as they were affected badly by the severe floods in Assam. The Director of the hospital, Padma Shri Ravi Kannan is set to receive an award from our club.

We encourage and foster :
President Sai along with 15 co-presidents, 1 Treasurer and 1 Literacy Chair traveled to Jawad Hills visited 6 schools. Notebooks, geometry boxes, school boxes and fans were handed over in person at 6 schools and the materials for 2 other schools that could not be visited due to lack of time were handed over to the Forest Dept as these schools are run by the Forest Department.

Diwali Carnival
The District took about 1500 plus under privileged children to celebrate Diwali at VGP Universal kingdom. The children were provided pick up and drop from their homes, breakfast & lunch, and all rides at VGP, & and a return gift to carry – a goody bag with goodies in it. There was an hour-long entertainment program for the kids at VGP. We have sponsored 115 children.

given for 10th Standard students of Govt Adi Dravidar Welfare School, Palavakkam, for their daily snacks – Sundal. Sponsored by Rtn Ravindran.

Inter District
RC Salem Central provides coaching classes and snacks every evening for ST students who are in a government hostel. On Woman Child Empowerment Day Rtn. DGN Saravanan participated in the program organized by RC Salem Central and contributed towards snacks expenses of one whole month.

Certified Workshop initiated by the District Team – We had sponsored 4 teachers from Olcott School.
Initiated by the District Team with 4 lead clubs partnering with an NGO, Born 2 Win that works with transgenders. Mitra was one of the participating clubs. Supplied cooking utensils and a pushcart to transgenders for providing a livelihood for transgenders – 20 beneficiaries. Looks like, in all probability this is a first in Rotary in India. Utensils were contributed by Mitrans, Sai, Suresh, Krithi and Srini R.
